Tips for getting ready for you photo shoot

Attitude
Attitude is everything. If you really don’t want your picture taken or feel uncomfortable it will show. We will be there to make this a fun time and as easy on you as we can.

Number #1, be yourself. You know what you want way down deep so don’t be shy. Keep that in mind so we can capture the real you. Having fun, being creative, and incorporating your own ideas will help us deliver the photographs you want;

photos that will be come a part of your heritage.

Colors and Clothing
Wear your favorite colors. Solid colors work great, no plaid or stripes. Clothing with pictures or wording is not recommended unless it’s your school logo or name.

You should have a few favorite outfits that make you feel good, bringing both casual and dressy. Make sure you have them ironed and pressed and neatly on a hanger. If your clothes look a mess the camera will pick it up and we don’t want that. I have found that parents might have a few ideas on what you should wear. Let them pick one favorite outfit so they feel a part of this, then we can work on your ideas. Your clothing should be comfortable and not too tight to make posing easier for you.

Senior Items
Your might want to have your picture taken with something special to you. This could be most anything, an instrument, a sport theme, vehicle, pet, the list could go on. Talk to us about it and let’s see what we can come up with. Things like this can capture the real you.

Makeup
Ladies, when wearing your makeup make sure it’s not going to add a shine. Wearing makeup with SPF in it is great, but not so great for pictures. Makeup with sparkle is not a good idea in front of a camera. If wearing fingernail polish, give them a fresh coat and don’t forget your toes if they are going to show in the photo.

Hair Style
Make your hair style something you are used to and is easy care. When posing you don’t want it to get in the way. Make sure to bring a brush or curling iron or any hair care items just in case you need a touch-up.

Eyewear
Most glasses have a glare to them and we can work around that, but it might limit you to a few poses. If you want to check with your eye doctor they do make no glare lenses. There are other ways to work around that. You could check with your eye doc and they might lend you a pair of frames for your photo shoot. You may also decide to have a pose or two (or more) without your glasses on.

Complexion
We can retouch minor acne breakouts and have a service we use for retouching for a reasonable fee per image. Sunburns and suntans can leave lines that will be picked up in front of a camera. Make sure to wear clothing that will cover tan lines or burns.

Photo Shoot
We would like you to bring a parent, adult relative or friend that can help you with your photo shoot.
